Idea: Smart Doorbell

Why not bring the doorbell into the modern age? Hook up the doorbell to a Raspberry Pi, etc to add functionality to just 1 button.

Ideas:

1. Quiet Hours - Have the doorbell not work during certain hours. This will prevent annoyances while sleeping.

2. Recording doorbell button presses - Mark the time & date when the doorbell was hit.A simple log entry. To go into detail, mark the log when the state of the switch goes closed & then back open.

3. Maximum window of doorbell time: To deter people hitting the doorbell for a long period of time, have the doorbell stop working  after a certain time period. Functionality will be restored after a "rest" period.

4. Quiet Hour override - If the user holds down the button for a specified period of time, the bell will activate during quiet hours.
